Behavioural Modification Technology

RYIFY supplies the Keen Smart bracelet, a device that is worn with the aim of modifying body-focused repetitive behaviours.

What are body-focused repetitive behaviours?

Body focused repetitive behaviours (BFRBs) are repetitive self-grooming behaviours where someone – often a child or young adult – damages their appearance or causes physical injury through pulling, picking, biting or scraping their hair, skin or nails.

Over time, these conditions can psychologically or socially affect their daily lives at school or work.

The Australian public has become more aware of BFRBs in recent years through mainstream media articles, as well as increased support group presence and social media coverage.

The Keen Bracelet

The Keen Awareness Bracelet, created by HabitAware, was designed with BFRB sufferers in mind.

Awareness is a key step in many of the advised therapies for the treatment of BFRBs.

The key role of the bracelet is to create awareness in people of their unconscious behaviours and, provided they’re motivated to change, to overcome their condition.

It’s an awareness trainer and subconscious behaviour tracker that recognises when you are hair pulling, skin picking, nail biting, or thumb sucking – and it empowers you to stop!
